Male', MALDIVES - South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has requested Football Association of Maldives (FAM) to hold the draw ceremony of this year’s SAFF championship, which is scheduled to be held in Maldives and Sri Lanka in next December. FAM also confirmed the request from SAFF and is yet to make a final decision. SAFF requested to take place the draw on 22nd of September and FAM replied the regional football governing body to clarify more on the ceremony. “We have replied to them asking who is going to spend on the ceremony. If we are to spend, it’s unlikely to hold the ceremony here, but it will be decided by the executive committee” FAM general secretary Addo said. “We have also asked to delay the date because 22nd September clashes with President’s Cup final ” He added. Addo also added how good the ceremony would be depending on the budget they receive.
